Devils Lake


Situated in the Ramsey County, Devils Lake is also the county seat as well. There is a lake here of the same name from where the name of the city has come. The city of Devils Lake came into existence in the year 1883. The city was earlier named as Creelsburg and Creel City but later came to be known as Devils Lake. The city has a population of 7,222 people and has a population density of 444 persons per square kilometers.

Education in Devils Lake is offered by the Devils Lake Public Schools. In the education system of Devils Lake you will find elementary schools, middle school as well as high school. Some of the important elementary schools in Devils Lake include Prairie View Elementary School, Minnie H Elementary School and Sweetwater Elementary School. Other than this, there is a middle school and a high school here. They are Central Middle School and Devil's Lake High School respectively. Moreover there is a public school here known as the St. Joseph's Catholic School. The Lake Region State College imparts higher education in the region. The schools and colleges also encourage the students to participate in various extra curricular activities. These include sports, music, dance, acting and others.



Transportation in Devils Lake is quite developed. The railway transportation in Devils Lake is one of the best. Amtrak operates the rails here and it is also the national passenger carrier as well. The various directions in which the trains operates include Seattle, Portland and Chicago. Roads and highways are also well maintained here. There are buses which operates within the city.
