Economy of North Dakota

North Dakota is a state in United States located in the Midwestern and the western regions of United States of America. In terms of area North Dakota is the twelfth largest state in U.S.A. the state is considered as the 48th most populous in U.S. Bismarck is the capital state of North Dakota and Fargo is the largest city in the state. The major crops produced in the region include Wheat, barley, canola, soybeans, sunflowers, and flax are grown throughout the state.



The Red River valley greatly helps in rich farming. The chief crops to be grown here include sugar beets, soybeans and corn. In the dry southwestern region cattle rearing is very common and towards the east dairy farming dominates the region. In the central of North Dakota extensive amount of honey is produced. Though the industrial source of the state is not that developed still it helps a great deal in the economy of the region. The small industrial set ups include the electric power, machinery, food processing, petroleum and many other things. The tourism also helps greatly in enhancing the economic condition of North Dakota.
