Hi-Line Railroad Bridge

The Hi-Line Bridge at North Dakota was built by expert engineers. It took nearly two years to complete this great structure. The construction works began in 1906 and by the time it was 1908 the Hi-Line Railroad Bridge was ready for public use. The raw materials used for the massive construction work consisted of 10,000 cubic feet of concrete, 14 million pounds of steel,and 80,000 linear feet of wood piling. Moreover 380,000 rivets were also utilized in the construction of the bridge. Built mainly for augmenting railroads, today Hi-Line Railroad Bridge is one of the major tourist attractions of the region. The bridge is located at a tall height of 162 feet above the sea level.



Hi-Line Railroad Bridge runs for a distance of 3,860 feet and is one of the longest single track railroads in USA. The Bridge played a vital role during both the World Wars. Not only military goods but arms, ammunition, first aid, medicine and also soldiers were transported to distant lands via Hi-Line Railroad Bridge . US soldiers were kept on vigil during the war years to prevent sabotage on the railway tracks over the bridge. a premium mode of connection the bridge is still used for exporting and importing freight goods.
