Souris Riverr

The name Souris is a derivation from the French word "Souris". This river which flows through the beautiful land of North America is about 700 km long. The river originates in the the pristine land of Saskatchewan. Watering through North Dakota and Manitoba Souris River finally joins Assiniboine River, at Treesbank. Minot City which is also known as "the magic city" and Velva city in North Dakota are located on the banks of the river. Easy availability of river water and quick mode of transportation available in these cities have attracted tourists to Souris River from across the nation.

One of the major activities at Souris River is canoing. In September, 1985 Keith Robinson originated the practice of canoing for the first time. He set up a canoing company on the banks of the river and named it Souris River Canoe. Although the company chose to shift its base to Canada canoing on Souris River remains a great crowd puller. As your canoe makes its way through the tranquil waters of the river, life seems to have come to a standstill. The occasion is just perfect for a romantic rendezvous on water. Holiday makers can also indulge into fishing on the river. However fishing is allowed only during the day and with prior permission of the Souris River authorities. This vacation enjoy an utmost pleasure on the banks of Souris River. The banks of the river are also ideal picnic spots. Your kids will also have an exciting time here. There are a lot of fun rides for the kids on Souris River. Adults too can explore much about water life from a single canoe ride. You can also splurge into a shopping spree in the nearby shopping arcades. Splattered with various departmental stores and shopping malls the cities located on the banks of Souris River are perfect holiday spots.
